Hire The Puppets is a solo act created by Corey Colagrossi also known by the stage name Corey Ravns. In 2008 Corey was hit by a drunk driver while riding his motorcycle to save gas on the way to his volunteer job working with injured wildlife to rehabilitate the animals for eventual release.
Before this day Corey was a drummer and had been drumming regularly since the age of three. Having grown up in a family of musicians he was started out on an instrument right away. He knew how to play lots of other instruments and sing but drumming was what he loved. Being hit by that drunk driver (who was never caught) cost Corey his right leg. It also left him with 28 screws and 2 plates in his right hip, he lost his entire left back muscle and crushed most of his teeth on impact.
After several years of recovery he had to learn a new way to play drums. It worked but, his stamina to play the drums for long periods of time was suffering. Family and friends talked him into taking the few songs he had written on guitar, record them and share them online. He did but thought that no one would like them or even care. He was wrong. The reception was better then he could have imagined and people were asking for more. He worked hard to learn more skills on guitar and re-practiced his vocal lessons from childhood and got busy writing songs. Hire The Puppets was born!
Corey has since been working to add his many other talents to HTP by doing a lot of the art work, videos, editing, mixing and mastering, photos and more to make the HTP brand a full media experience. As this is a new venture (only being just about at a year old at the time of writing this) he is just getting started and with the help of his good friend who does IT work and plays bass they are working to develop Hire The Puppets to a full realization and establish a set concept of content. He is excited to see what the end product will be and despite his injuries which pose constant challenges he pushes on as he is motivated to bring new content to his current and future fans.
